Welcome back all my new first grade friends and parents.
Hope you had a great summer and are ready to learn!
The first week of school was great! We were excited to hear Mrs. Archer had her baby on Wednesday and we will miss her until her return. We worked on our character training this week and made school supplies that went with each. Be sure to ask your student what each one stands for.
The students have been busy learning about farm animals. They are super excited for our field trip to the fairgrounds. We have learned about sheep, chickens, cows and of course……
Happy August Birthday to Grace. Hope you had a Beautiful Day!
We had a terrific time at the fair seeing all the animals. Cows, goats, and chickens! Oh my!
After the fair, we had a picnic in the park.
We have been learning about different jobs this week in preparation for Labor day. Some of the students brought tools from their parents jobs to show and tell the class about.
This week we have been learning about apples in honor of Johnny Appleseeds birthday. WE learned the apple life cycle and parts as well as tasted and voted on our favorite color of apple. On Friday we made applesauce! It smelled so yummy! The students were very interested in how to prepare it.
October is here! We have been studying spiders this week. We learned lots of facts and maybe we can appreciate these furry little creatures a bit more.
We even made spider slime!
First grade made an awesome sign to cheer on our Donkeys for their homecoming football game. Gooooo Donkeys!!!!!
Happy October birthdays to
Bailee and Daniel!
October was fire safety month. First grade had a great time learning about fire safety, making a family excape plan, and visiting the fire station.
Good bye First Grade
Hello Second Grade!!!
Welcome Second grade Happy Campers! We have made the transition over to Camp Classroom and are getting the hang of the new routine and expectations. Let’s have a great year.
Second Grade enjoyed our first field trip of the year to the Orr Family Farm. We had lots of fun and the weather was a bit windy but could have been alot worse. We went through the petting zoo, rode the train and hay ride, went through a corn maze, and had a blast! They were sure tired when we left.
Second grade went to the Cowboy Museum for a channel 9 weather presentation and toured the museum. It was a great day despite the cold wet weather.
We were even on the news!!! Check it out. I can spot a few of our students in the video.
