Hi, I am Thorma Jackson, the 5th Grade ELA and K-3 Reading Lab teacher at Bray-Doyle Elementary School.    I have been an  elementary school  teacher for thirty years and have specialized in remedial reading for the past fifteen years.  I graduated from  Western New Mexico University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and then graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Master's Degree in Elementary Education and certification as a Reading Specialist.

I consider myself one of the lucky few who get to go to a job they love each day!  It is an indescribable thrill to help a child learn to read, and then see the world open up for them!

My husband Tom and I both grew up in southwestern New Mexico.  We have two children (adults now!), our son Ned, and our daughter Amy!  We have two grandkids, Yler and Alissa, who are the love and joy of our lives!  We raise Herefords, Hereford-Angus crossbred cattle and registered Quarter Horses, and we both love to fish!  My hobbies include needlecrafts, photography and gardening.   I am excited about the upcoming year here at Bray-Doyle Elementary with our awesome staff, and feel truly blessed with the many friends I have met in this community!  I look forward to working with you and your children, and will do everything I can to make this the best year possible for my students!
